How to Extend the Time Limit

Quick Answer

Extend dungeon time with time pickups, eligible core rewards and layers that award Time Boosts. Landing Areas pause the countdown while you stay there. For lasting gains, check the timer upgrade at Mino's Ice Cream once that mall facility unlocks.

Extend your dungeon time through available time pickups, eligible core rewards and layers that award Time Boosts. Landing Areas stop the countdown while you are there. Permanent timer upgrades also become part of your mall progression; inspect the available timer option at Mino's Ice Cream when that facility is unlocked.

Use the timer shown in your current run as the starting value. This guide does not assume every save, upgrade state and version begins with one identical number of minutes.

Check the reward before choosing your next layer

  1. Reach a Landing Area to pause the countdown.
  2. Read the destinations and their completion rewards before leaving.
  3. If a route offers a Time Boost, consider it alongside the strength and time needed to clear that route.
  4. Collect time pickups you encounter in the dungeon.
  5. Watch the timer after eating a rewarding enemy core instead of assuming every Bite adds time.

A Bite on an ordinary enemy and consuming an eligible core are not interchangeable promises of extra time. Use the actual reward and HUD change to confirm what you received.

Use the mall for longer-term improvement

As the story opens more facilities, inspect Mino's Ice Cream for permanent upgrades, including a dungeon timer extension. These upgrades use boss-related materials. Check the current menu for the cost and benefit you can buy; there is no universal material count or fixed total timer increase listed here.

Other permanent upgrades can help you reach your target sooner by improving Davy's combat performance. They do not directly add seconds unless their description says they affect the timer.

Spend the extra time on your actual objective

Stopping at a Landing Area gives you room to plan. It does not mean the countdown is disabled for the rest of the dive. Choose the next destination before leaving, then decide whether you need experience, a Style, a particular reward or a direct push deeper.

Skipping optional fights can save time, but skipping all opportunities to grow may leave you too weak for the encounter you are trying to reach. Use your current level and the destination information to make that tradeoff. When time becomes tight, a safe return from a Landing Area is an option to consider rather than extending a failing attempt indefinitely.
