If Stupid Never Dies attacks are not hitting enemies, check Davy's facing direction, distance and height before assuming the attack input has failed. The game has no conventional manual lock-on, and camera assistance does not guarantee that an attack will reach the enemy shown in the center of the view.
Attack tracking was improved for the updated demo and carried into the full release. That improvement reduces one source of frustration, but it does not establish that every remaining miss is a bug or that a specific patch fixes it.
Identify what is missing
| What happens | Relevant distinction |
|---|---|
| A projectile travels ahead of Davy but misses the enemy | The attack follows its direction; camera framing is not a guaranteed target lock |
| An attack passes above or below a flying enemy | Height alignment matters in aerial combat |
| Bite grabs a nearby enemy instead of an exposed core | Crowded target selection is different from a normal attack failing to register |
| The camera loses the fight while you reposition | Camera assistance is limited and may need manual correction |

Compare vertical alignment as well as horizontal distance during aerial combat.
Check one attack in a clear position
- Bring the intended enemy into view and turn Davy toward it.
- Check whether the target is on the ground or airborne. Do not judge aerial reach from horizontal distance alone.
- Use the attack from a position where its direction and height line up with the target.
- Watch where the attack actually travels before repeating it.
This is a way to distinguish an alignment problem from an unexplained miss. It is not a verified fix for every attack, enemy or reported hit-detection issue.
Use camera assistance for visibility
Combat Camera Assist is available in the Accessibility tab of the in-game menu. It helps rotate the camera toward combat, but does not turn directional skills into homing attacks or remove their reach requirements.
If the view follows the enemy yet the attack still passes beside it, focus on Davy's position and the attack path. Changing the camera option alone may not change the outcome.
When the cause remains unclear
No universal hit-detection workaround, confirmed bug trigger or patch-specific cure is established here. A repeatable miss with one Style or enemy needs that exact situation to be identified. Keep the platform, game build, Style, attack and target clear when describing it; a general report that “attacks miss” cannot establish which mechanic or fault is involved.
