The First Bite Demo covers roughly the opening two hours. Davy enters timed dungeons, fights monsters and returns to the shopping mall to develop his abilities before heading out again. You can try that basic rhythm before deciding whether to buy the full game.
Combat revolves around more than Davy's starting zombie form. Style Eat lets him take elite monster powers, Body Hack adds Overtech equipment, and Davy Burst temporarily strengthens his abilities. There are 11 Styles in the game, including the base zombie form.
A September 21 demo update improved attack tracking and introduced Combat Camera Assist. Those changes are included in the full release, so use an updated demo when evaluating combat rather than relying only on early demo reactions.
