Acquire Harpy Style by consuming a Harpy elite's core, then use its aerial movement and ranged attacks to fight from above or reach elevated spaces. Check the Style Card when acquiring it: two Harpy cores can give different active Style Skills.
Harpy is an aerial combat option, not a guarantee that every attack connects from every height. Position Davy relative to the target before repeatedly committing to an attack.
Acquire and inspect the Style
- Find a Harpy elite and obtain an opportunity to eat its core.
- Make sure Bite Gauge is available and reach the core.
- Read the offered Style Card, including its active skill and stats.
- Accept the Style if it fits the fight or route you are planning.
- Switch into Harpy and check its current move information before relying on a particular ability.
Each non-Zombie Style has several possible active skills. Harpy examples include a tornado attack, rapid projectiles and a large boomerang. Receiving one does not give you all the others at the same time.
Use height with a purpose
Harpy supports ranged attacks from the air and can use aerial movement, including double jumping and gliding. It can also help access elevated routes that are difficult to reach in the base form.
In combat, line up your target's height and distance. Being airborne can change the angle of a shot or swing; a target just above or below you may still sit outside the effective contact area.
When your current position is producing repeated misses, reposition before spending another opening on the same action. Use the move you actually acquired rather than assuming every Harpy card behaves identically.
Keep the Style's limits visible
Monster transformations have a remaining floor limit. Harpy is not a permanent replacement for Zombie Davy, and switching away does not establish that its remaining uses are preserved indefinitely.
Frank's Database at the mall lets you review information about discovered Styles. Use it to check the form's abilities rather than inferring the function of a move from the attack label alone. If Harpy's particular skill does not suit the next encounter, choose a different available Style instead of forcing aerial combat throughout the dive.
