A permanently visible Davy Burst meter is not the right readiness test. Davy Burst uses an internal gauge, and an on-screen activation prompt appears when it is ready. A missing bar by itself does not prove that the ability is broken.
There is no verified universal fix for cases where Davy Burst never becomes available. In particular, an imported demo save has not been established as the cause of every missing-prompt report.
Look for readiness during combat
Continue normal combat and watch for the activation prompt. Combat actions contribute to building Davy Burst, and the prompt identifies the command you can use once it becomes available.

When activated, Davy Burst increases attack and defense and changes the presentation with dramatic lighting, graffiti-like visuals and different music. Those effects identify the active state; they do not tell you that a visible meter must remain on-screen between uses.
Distinguish a hidden charge from a missing ability
Check what is actually happening:
- No permanent gauge, but a ready prompt appears: that fits the internal-gauge design.
- A prompt appears, but the input seems wrong: compare it with your current control bindings.
- No prompt appears across continued combat: record this as a possible issue rather than assuming the gauge is full.
- The ability activates, but feels brief: duration and availability are separate concerns; a short active window is not evidence that its charge failed.
Avoid deleting a save or restarting your progress solely to test an unconfirmed explanation.
Record an issue precisely
If the prompt never appears, useful details include your platform, whether the save began in the demo or the full game, how far the story has progressed and what the game showed during combat. Those observations help distinguish a presentation misunderstanding from a reproducible failure.
A patch number, guaranteed charging threshold, confirmed save-import fix or specific reinstall procedure is not established here. Treat any proposed fix that depends on those details as unverified until it matches your version and symptoms.
